Senior R&D Technician

Natron Energy is seeking a R&D Technician with 5+ years of experience in a wet chemistry or battery laboratory environment to assist the R&D team with the components preparation, assembly of battery cells, and battery performance testing. In addition, this person will perform analytical tests such as FTIR, UV-Vis, Karl Fischer Titration, SEM, and/or PSD of materials and cell components. Qualified candidates have strong hands-on laboratory experience and follow instructions and procedures carefully. This person is passionate about helping the whole team succeed, willing to learn new skills, and flexible towards taking on new tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. The person in this position is detail-oriented, meticulous, and mindful of chemical hygiene, laboratory safety and good housekeeping practices.

Senior Process Engineer

Natron seeks a skilled, scientific-minded Battery Process Engineer with 5+ years of industrial experience to lead and execute projects related to novel battery electrodes including development of slurry formulations, mixing methodologies, and coating processes.  The position belongs to a passionate and diverse Technology team and involves close collaboration with Manufacturing counterparts in all facets of technology handoff for successful scale-up production.  The candidate should possess solid prior involvement in taking ideas from proof-of concept to feasibility stages and ultimate commercialization of novel battery electrodes. While the role requires extensive hands-on work, it equally relies on fundamental and theoretical knowledge in multitude of scientific disciplines.   Ideal candidate is a hard-working, team-work oriented, creative, and self-motivated.  He or she must hold a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering, materials science, applied physics, or related fields.

Senior Scientist

Natron seeks a Senior Scientist with 5+ years of experience in battery cell development to lead and execute projects related to cell design including electrolyte formulation, electrode materials development (actives, carbons, binders), and characterization and interpretation of cell degradation mechanisms. The person hired into position will join a passionate, diverse team and collaborate with experts in chemistry, materials engineering, and cell design to develop Natron’s next-generation cell technologies. Qualified candidates have prior experience in understanding multifaceted failure/degradation mechanisms in current/future generation Li-ion cells. This position requires both extensive hands-on laboratory work the ability to apply a deep fundamental knowledge of electrochemical systems including the chemistry and electrochemistry of water, inorganics, and small molecule organics. The person for this position is a hard-working, team-work oriented, creative, and self-motivated scientist who has no fear of pushing the boundaries of their intellectual capabilities. He or she must hold a Doctorate degree in electrochemistry, chemistry, applied physics, or a related field.

Director of Quality

Natron is seeking a Director of Quality to lead the establishment of quality systems and related business processes, as the company makes the transition from pilot to full-scale production. The ultimate goal of this effort is to achieve external certification of its quality systems to ISO 9000 standards within the next 12 months. The Director of Quality will be responsible to assess the company requirements in all facets of quality management from product design control through production to customer order acceptance, customer service, corrective action and internal audit. Close collaboration with Natron’s product development function, reliability team, test/data team, operations team, and business development team will be required. This role requires deep knowledge of quality systems and system implementation to train company employees and guide the creation and implementation of effective systems, appropriate to Natron’s growing business. Natron will make extensive use outside manufacturing partners; therefore, quality systems will have to address internal pilot production, as well as external contract manufacturing of components, sub-assemblies and finished goods. Qualified applicants will have a hands-on approach to leading quality system implementation, preferably in the field of batteries or industrial electronic hardware manufacturing, and have strong project management,  people management, and communication skills. The person for this position has a positive, team-first attitude, leads by example, enjoys sharing knowledge to advance the team, and is willing to learn and master new technologies. Certification Engineer

Natron is seeking a Certification Engineer to lead and execute the certification process for Natron’s cells, systems, and products. Certifications will include both initial certifications of new devices as well as maintenance of certifications through multiple future generations of those devices. Qualified candidates have significant experience working with certification standards and agencies (UL, Telcordia, UN/DOT, etc.), as well as a working knowledge of batteries, power electronics, and/or other electro-mechanical systems. VP/Director, Analytics

Natron is seeking a Vice President or Director of Analytics. This person will lead teams responsible for developing and scaling company functions including: data systems, engineering, visualization, and analytics, battery performance testing, product reliability engineering and testing, and quality engineering of the company’s processes and products. This person will build and lead a world class team of 15-20+ engineers that enables the company to successfully develop, launch, and scale products. He or she will work closely with Product, Technology, and Operations executives to develop the company functions needed to achieve success across departments and disciplines. This person has a proven track record for building and leading teams that worked with passion and integrity to successfully develop and launch world-changing hardware products, including leadership of projects involving data systems and engineering and hardware device manufacturing. Senior Power Electronics Engineer

Natron is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to support the design and development of its high-power battery systems for Data Center UPS and EV charging applications. The occupant of this position will work in a team of engineers to solve technical challenges associated with our energy storage products from initial prototyping to volume manufacturing.  He or she will design, test, and validate power electronics boards, AC/DC power conversion systems, and power protection circuits.  This person will assist in the systems integration of battery modules and electrical components within battery packs and racks.  This position requires extensive hands-on work and a do-whatever-it-takes attitude to get the job done.

Staff Mechanical Engineer

Natron is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of its high-power battery systems for Data Center UPS and EV charging applications.  The occupant of this position will work in a team of engineers to solve technical challenges including the conception and creation of new designs that maximize electrical, thermal, and mechanical performance while maintaining manufacturability.  He or she will also execute prototyping projects including building and testing battery packs and racks.  This person is a passionate, creative, goal-oriented engineer who is comfortable with developing new concepts and designs.  They are capable of providing guidance to less experienced team members.  This position requires extensive hands-on work and a do-whatever-it-takes attitude to get the job done.

Senior Electronics Technician

Natron is seeking a Senior Electronics Technician to assist in the assembly and testing of our battery management system (BMS) and battery packs.  Qualifed candidates have significant experience working with electronic control boards, power electronics boards, batteries, and both low and high voltage power systems.  In this position, he or she will assemble electronic components and systems, perform functional and performance testing, and work with the engineering team to debug after failed tests.  The person for this position is detailed oriented, interested in learning and mastering new skills, and has a team-first attitude.  He or she will be working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Data Engineer

Natron is seeking a Data Engineer to lead and assist projects for the development of data management, analysis, and visualization tools for data sets generated from designed experiments, containing electrochemical and physical data of battery materials, components, cells, modules and packs. The person in this position will work in a small team of engineers that is responsible for the collection, management, analysis, and distribution of all of the battery test data Natron generates.

Battery Technician

Natron is seeking a Battery Technician in our production group to assist in the testing of battery cells. The occupant of this position will be assisting battery assembly, perform QC of battery cells, setting up batteries for testing, performing tests, and logging test data. Qualified applicants will have prior hands on lab experience, preferably in the field of batteries or electronic hardware device testing. This is a hands-on position involving lab work including working in a glove box. The person for this position has a positive, team-first attitude, carefully follows instructions and SOPs, is meticulous and detail oriented, and is willing to learn and master new skills. The person will be working in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
