Technology-Old

[vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1509531727711{margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]Natron Energy is developing radical new battery products for mission critical stationary applications including data-center UPS, electric forklifts, smart grids/microgrids, and renewables support. Natron’s batteries survive tens of thousands of deep discharge cycles, can be fully charged or discharged in just minutes, and cost significantly less than incumbent lead acid batteries.

To achieve these advantages, Natron has developed a new cell technology based on Prussian Blue analogue electrodes and a sodium-ion electrolyte. Natron’s electrodes charge and discharge by single-phase reactions within the stability window of that electrolyte. This eliminates the conversion reactions and electrolyte decomposition that limit the lifetime of lead acid and lithium-ion cells. These advances in cell chemistry have allowed Natron to build the first battery in which chemistry does not limit device lifetime. Also, the Prussian Blue pigment is inexpensive and is already produced at a very large scale.

Natron was founded by a group of Stanford scientists and entrepreneurs in 2012.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
